Out of Bounds is, in golfing terms, a place to avoid. But I was drawn to an old metal marker between next to the 17th green at Eastlake. Its black-and-white paint had weathered, rust taking hold over time. That deterioration created formal shapes and textures I wanted to explore, making it a perfect subject for my rust series.
