Introduction to Abstract Oil Painting

Join The Creator Incubator’s own abstract artist, Tony Wild, for a hands-on introduction to abstract painting using oil and cold wax.

Step inside Tony’s studio practice and explore the materials, tools and processes he uses to create his own work. Tony will share his approach to abstraction before guiding you through the creation of two original works on paper.

Working from a simple natural object as inspiration, you’ll explore layering, mark-making, texture and reduction, with Tony demonstrating each stage before you try it yourself.

No previous painting experience is needed. The emphasis is on experimenting, having fun and discovering what happens when you let the materials and process lead the way.

All materials are provided. Maximum six participants.
