Coping Strategies looks at the behaviours and defences we accumulate in response to experience. Some are deliberate, others develop without us really noticing. Over time, they layer over one another, becoming difficult to separate from the things they were originally protecting.

The surface reflects that accumulation — marks are built over, obscured and exposed again, with earlier layers remaining present underneath. For me, the work is less about whether these strategies are good or bad, and more about the traces they leave and the extent to which they become part of us.
